Every minute matters when your home is exposed to the elements

Waiting even a few hours after siding is breached puts your home at serious risk
Once exterior siding is breached, rainwater finds every gap. In Martinsburg's climate, mold colonies can establish inside wall cavities within 24 to 48 hours of sustained moisture exposure.
What starts as a single cracked or displaced panel can compromise the wall sheathing behind it within days. Water-damaged OSB and framing lumber weaken fast, turning a $500 repair into a $5,000 structural fix.
Every hour your siding is missing or damaged, your heating and cooling system fights to maintain temperature against a wall that no longer holds. Energy loss starts immediately and grows with every hour.
Most OH homeowner policies require reasonable mitigation efforts after a loss. Waiting to address an emergency siding breach can complicate your claim and reduce your payout.
Our crew coordination means that when you call, someone is moving. We aim to reach Martinsburg properties as quickly as possible after your call.
We carry full licensing, general liability, and workers compensation in Martinsburg, OH. That's not a checkbox for us - it's what protects you when a licensed contractor is working on your home.
If a full repair isn't possible in a single visit due to material availability, we secure your home with professional tarping before we leave. You won't sit through another night with an exposed wall.
Our estimates are given before any work begins, emergency or not. We believe homeowners in Martinsburg deserve straight answers about cost during what's already a stressful day.
Emergency Services
From panel replacement to temporary boarding, our crew handles the full range of emergency siding situations in Martinsburg.
We carry common siding profiles and can replace damaged panels on the same visit in many cases. When we can match your existing material, repairs look clean and are weather-tight the same day.
If water has already entered the wall cavity, we address both the breach and the pathway. We seal gaps, replace compromised flashing, and check house wrap integrity before closing the wall back up.
Hail, falling branches, and vehicles all punch through siding differently. We assess the damage pattern, determine whether the substrate beneath is compromised, and address both layers if needed.
Board-up and tarping keeps rain, debris, and pests out until full repair materials arrive. It's a bridge, not a band-aid, and we do it to a professional standard.
High winds, hail, and falling debris are the most common sources of emergency siding calls in Martinsburg. We handle storm damage from assessment through repair and can document conditions for your insurance claim.
When you call, you talk to someone who immediately logs your location and damage description. The crew is notified before you hang up.
The closest available crew is dispatched to your Martinsburg address without delay. You'll get an arrival window so you're not left guessing when help is coming.
We inspect thoroughly before touching anything, then repair or temporarily secure based on what's available. You're told exactly what was done and what comes next.
If the emergency visit was a temporary fix, we schedule the permanent restoration work as soon as materials are confirmed. The job isn't done until your home is fully restored and weather-tight.
What You Need to Know
Siding emergencies in Martinsburg don't announce themselves in advance. A tree branch drops during a windstorm. Hail punches through vinyl or wood fiber panels. A vehicle clips a corner of the house. In each case, the exterior wall that keeps the inside dry and insulated is suddenly breached, and the clock starts immediately.
Here's what happens structurally when exterior siding is breached and it rains: water enters the gap and immediately contacts the house wrap or felt paper behind the siding. If that layer is intact, it provides temporary resistance. If the house wrap is torn, punctured, or was never properly installed in that section, water reaches the OSB or plywood sheathing directly. OSB begins absorbing moisture quickly. Once saturated, it swells, loses structural integrity, and becomes a breeding ground for mold. Wall studs behind it are next.
Martinsburg, OH's climate creates specific mold risk factors. Humid summers and wet springs mean that a wall cavity breached in the morning can show the early conditions for mold by the following day. Fiberglass batt insulation is particularly problematic because it holds moisture against the wood framing on both sides. Emergency response that gets tarping or temporary sealing in place before the next rain event dramatically reduces remediation risk.
While you wait, gather your homeowner's insurance policy number and carrier contact. Most OH carriers want to be notified of property damage as soon as it's discovered. Document the time of the damage event if you know it (a storm time, the moment you heard the branch fall). This timeline supports your claim and demonstrates timely mitigation efforts.
Whether insurance covers emergency siding work in OH depends on the cause of damage and your specific policy terms. Sudden storm damage, hail, and impact from wind-driven objects are commonly covered perils under standard homeowner policies. Damage from gradual deterioration or deferred maintenance typically is not. An emergency visit from a licensed contractor like SOS Roofing and Siding generates the written assessment and documentation that supports a covered claim. We can walk you through what information your carrier will likely need.
The goal of every emergency visit is to leave your home in a stable, weather-resistant condition. That may mean a complete same-day repair, or it may mean professional tarping in place while materials are ordered for a follow-up. Either way, you won't be left with an open wall.
